welllllll!!!!! Los Angeles is so dreamy in nice weather. On my day off it was a regular summer day so I drove to Malibu, laid down on the sand, ate a pineapple and watched dolphins for a while. I sort of dozed off and when I woke back up my first instinct was to gather my things and head back into my sandy little La Bahia studio...but I looked around and saw dumb surfers and a cliff. La Bahia Santa Cruz life did you really exist!!?! ever!

my job is totally stupid and hilarious. every day another has-been famous fool comes in. I love it, it doesn't get old, I love seeing what famous people buy. Today the Fonz bought hippie deodorant. Ha! I should probably move out soon and start my real life. I don't know where to go for sure. Every time I get close to deciding I change my mind and go oh well it's time to go on vacation again. Maybe I will go to Puerto Rico for another month or so before moving out. But really I just wish all my friends would move to LA for summer and rent a huge house with a million different rooms and throw badasssss parties and be the most popular girls in school. riiiiight??

To summarize the legend of the squonk: It is a very ugly creature, and it knows this. Its skin is ill-fitting, and covered with warts and other blemishes, therefore the squonk hides from being seen, and spends much of its time weeping sorrowfully over its own ugliness. Hunters who have attempted to catch squonks have found that the creature is capable of evading capture by dissolving completely into a pool of tears and bubbles when cornered. A certain J.P. Wentling is supposed to have coaxed one into a bag, which while he was carrying it home, suddenly lightened. On inspection, he found that the bag contained only the liquid remains of the sad animal.

The scientific name name of the squonk, Lacrimacorpus dissolvens, comes from Latin words meaning "tear", "body", and "dissolve".

A star is born!

I tell Mother Chickles about my desire to go across the country with a family of traveling ducks. Mother is sad, but she says I can go if Father Chickles says yes.

Father says I can go! California here I come!
